In 2009, the seeds of Hyperlite Mountain Gear were planted by founder Mike St. Pierre, whose passion for adventure was matched only by his dissatisfaction with the outdoor gear available at the time. Unable to find durable, lightweight, and design-driven equipment for his pursuits, Mike decided to take action. He immersed himself in the world of fabric technology, design, and production, and began crafting his own gear.
